News this week (‘News’ is a pretty loose term….) was that George Clooney didn’t buy his wife Amal a first anniversary present. While this is hardly the most interesting thing we’ve read, it did mean our social media feeds were buzzing with images of the stunning Mrs Clooney in her wedding attire. Around about this time last year (their anniversary is 27th September in case you want to send a card next year…) we were probably all obsessively refreshing the ‘side bar of shame’ to see what chic, stylish outfits Amal Clooney would pick to wear for her wedding weekend. So we thought now was a timely excuse to look at how to ‘get the look’ – or looks!
#1: The “Oh, I’m just casually going on a boat ride with Cindy Crawford” outfit…
…As soon as the couple arrived in Venice the fashion show began with Amal slipping into a chic, simple, striped monochrome Dolce & Gabbana number to catch up with friends.
GET THE LOOK: We really like this – the longer sleeves make it a better option for autumn/winter and the ‘Queen of the Pins’ Amal herself would probably approve of the shorter hemline!
#2: ‘THE’ wedding dress…
… Amal wore a custom Oscar de le Renta gown for the ceremony held at the Aman hotel in Venice. The off-the-shoulder gown was crafted from French lace with hand-embroidered pearls, diamanté detail and a sweeping train. She teamed this with glossy hair and natural polished makeup by makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury (who has a ‘how to’ video here..)
GET THE LOOK: A custom Oscar de le Renta gown probably isn’t on everyone’s wedding budget but if a traditional shape and lace work is a look you like, we’d suggest a Pronovias gown. To channel Amal’s off-the-shoulder look the style ‘Pleasant’ may be for you.
#3: The ‘Dance the night away’ reception dress…
… Amal slipped into a shorter, flapper style dress to mingle and party.

#4: The ‘Yes, I have amazing legs and a hot new husband’ look…
… Sunday morning post-ceremony, the new Mrs Clooney wore a stunning high-low, floral embellished Giambattista Valli Couture dress to lunch.
GET THE LOOK: If you want to get your paws on a high-low dress we can’t think of a better brand than Chi Chi London who have a great selection of lengths, colours and patterns.
#5: The ‘making it official’ outfit…
… Amal picked a cream Stella McCartney jumpsuit for the official civil ceremony to legalise their marriage.
GET THE LOOK: As weddings abroad and non-traditional ceremonies grow in popularity, a number of couples also need a civil ceremony (usually at the Registry office) to legalise their marriage. Lots of brides still want to feel special on this day and we’d recommend looking at House of Ollichon, a new bridal brand who specialise in bridal jumpsuits and separates for just that sort of occasion. Team their Clement Jumpsuit with a floppy hat to get Amal’s look.
