Today I have gone for something a little unique, mainly because it combines a few trends in one (which in normal circumstances shouldn’t work but this just does!) – think pockets, a collar and ankle length…
Okay, so you maybe thinking that sounds like a fashion disaster, but that’s why British bridal designers like Charlie Brear are superstars in their field. This cool, stylish and fashion-forward ‘Selva’ gown from Charlie’s 2016 collection would not only make a bride look chic and refined but in control and uber cool!
I love the way the sleeveless, halter neck cut and embroidered lace screams Spring/Summer 1930, but rather than look old fashioned, the pocket detail and see-through lace back brings it right back to 2016 with a vintage twist!
I also personally love the bronze metallic stiletto with this look (it matches the models hair perfectly) however I understand that may not be for everyone, but with a dress like this you need some killer shoes to show off as they hit the hemline at the perfect spot.
For those of you that aren’t familiar with Charlie Brear, she started off as a stylist and after 10 years in the fashion industry, having worked with vintage wedding dresses during a commercial shoot, decided to set up her own Vintage Wedding Dress Company in 2005.
She then moved on to designing made-to-order gowns which were a massive hit and from there re-branded to ‘Charlie Brear’ in 2013 and hasn’t looked back! All her gowns are designed and produced in the UK and she continues to be one to watch!
